Why College Students Love Toaster Ovens!
If you’re a college student and don’t have a toaster oven in your dorm room, I only have one question: why not? They are perfect for small dorm rooms, as you can toast or cook almost anything you could possibly want to eat in an adequately-sized toaster oven. If you’re a student and don’t own one of these fantastic devices, you’re missing out, and I am going to tell you why.
First of all, if you’re living in a dorm room, you probably have one communal conventional oven and microwave that everyone has to share. I’m sure you’ve been up early in the morning a few times, and were ready to make a few slices of toast for breakfast – only to find that other people were using the toaster and you either had to wait or totally skip breakfast so you weren’t late for class. A toaster oven can make great toast, bagels, muffins, or any other type of breakfast you might want – right in your room.
Even if you’re living in an apartment, a these ovens are still a great thing to have. You likely don’t have a huge apartment, and a toaster oven can save you a lot of space in the kitchen, especially if you don’t even have a full-sized oven. If you have to pay utilities extra, they are also a lot more energy-efficient than conventional ovens, which will save you a lot of money in the long run.
They’re convenient. If you’re cramming for a test ate night and have a hankerin’ for a midnight snack, why not just throw on some chicken fingers or a frozen pizza? Toaster ovens make things like this perfectly, and they make great snacks or quick meals if you’re busy with school work or just don’t feel like taking the time to cook a meal.
When I was in college, toaster ovens weren’t nearly as advanced as they are these days. I only wish we had ovens like the Breville BOX800XL back then; it would have been such a lifesaver. I lost count of how many times I ended up ordering pizza and Chinese delivery; I could have saved so much by cooking my own food.
